Her passion and knowledge for health has encouraged her to explore many areas, from studying Pre Medicine in South America, obtaining a BA in Philosophy at McMaster University, to becoming a Paramedic and Flight Paramedic. 1. CPR-AED for Adult, Child and Infant:

Fee: $45 plus student book cost 
Course Duration:

This class is for the general public. It trains individuals to get emergency help on the way, deal with cardiac arrests, perform high quality CPR, use a public defibrillator, give breaths and relieve chocking.

2. CPR – AED LEVEL C:

Fee: $45 plus student book cost 
Course Duration:  
4hr 30 min

This level (level C) is usually required for the work force. It trains individuals to get emergency help on the way, deal with cardiac arrests, perform high quality CPR, use a public defibrillator, give breaths and relieve chocking. This class includes a mandatory written exam in addition to skills testing.

Course contents and outcomes include:

• High-quality CPR for adults, children and infants
• Chain of Survival
• Recognizing the need for CPR
• How to perform CPR with the help of others
• Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask
• How to use an AED on an adult, children and infants
• When and how to help a choking adult, child and infant
• Level C training

*Upon successful completion of the course the student will receive a certification valid for 1 year from the date of successful course completion.

Course Duration:

This class is designed for healthcare providers and first responders who provide patient care in different settings. It teaches single rescuer and team life support skills for pre-hospital settings, in-facility settings and healthcare related programs. Students will learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. It includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques.

Course contents and outcomes include:

• High-quality CPR and its impact on survival
• Steps of the Chain of Survival
• Appling BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
• Recognize the signs of needing CPR
• High-quality CPR for an adult, children and infants
• Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Ventilations by using a device
• Multi-rescuer resuscitation and perform multi-rescuer CPR
• Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for an adult, child and infants

2. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) Renewal course:

Course Duration:

Fast-paced training allowing the experienced BLS providers who are confident in their skills through regular use the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge through written and skills assessment in a concentrated program.

Participants must have a current certification taken within the last 12 months and current to the most recent Guidelines released.
All participants are expected to be highly proficient. This is not an entry-level course, those students who are unsuccessful in the skills or knowledge test will have to take a full BLS Provider course.

*Upon successful completion of the course the student will receive a certification valid for 1 year from the date of successful course completion.

FIRST AID and CPR- AED: (Certification under CERT and FAST, approved by
WSIB, HRSDC and the Heart and Stroke Foundation)

2 days or a total of 13 hrs.

Upon successful completion of the course the student will receive a certification.

*All CPR certifications are valid for 1 year from the date of successful course completion.

* Standard First Aid Certification are valid for 3 years

Upon successful completion of the course the student will receive a certification.
